Legacy of St. Patrick's

Since its inception in 1850, St. Patrick’s College has remained a bastion of academic excellence and character development in the vibrant city of Jaffna. With a storied history spanning over a century, the school has been dedicated to shaping the minds and hearts of countless generations. Founded by Roman Catholic missionaries, St. Patrick’s College continues to uphold its motto: “Fide et labore” (By faith and labour).

We, the Patricians, proudly announce that we are going to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the foundation of our Alma Mater. Considering the feasibility of the time available to the old Patricians, the College has decided to allocate various events of the Jubilee Celebration within two different schedules – one in March and the other in July. However, more important events of the Jubilee, such as the College Feast, inter-country cricket and football matches, T-20 big match, book releases, etc., will take place in March. The Patrician Walk, which has been scheduled for 14th March 2025, marks the great beginning of the Jubilee.
